Gisborne BAKERY + CAFÉ
Project Type: Design & Documentation
A French inspired café with Cambodian roots, Interior Flow were engaged to complete the Interior and Graphic design and Architectural documentation for the café located in Melbourne’s country town Gisborne.
A relaxing atmosphere with nostalgic French detailing and an industrial edge bringing Melbourne eccentric to the country. With a variety of seating arrangements and a large communal table and hidden nooks for the French buttoned banquette seat, create an intimate brunch or lunch setting for smaller groups.
A combination of rustic and raw materials create an interior to reflect an industrial edge through the careful selection of lighting and exposing existing brick walls contrasted against timber accents. Such as the detailed feature ceilings at varying heights with lowered ceilings over the counter to create an intimate atmosphere.
The detailed wall paneling and architraves, French inspired, contrasted against the selection of recycled timber tables with painted accents and custom graphic designed signage inlaid to the table tops were designed by Interior Flow.
Timber feature shelves to the rear of the counter dressed to make the café feel like an inviting lounge to spend the morning or afternoon relaxing within.
It was our aim to create an interior that did not just serve an intended purpose but also created an environment that visitors would want to come and spend more time in with their family and friends.
